Camp Consensus

Welcome to the Climate Camp, great to have you here!

Please take a moment to read this consensus so that everyone at the camp can feel comfortable. In this way, we understand our interactions as part of a socio-ecological transformation for a more livable world that we all shape together!

1🦊

We do not accept discrimination!

We recognize that we live in a system that reproduces various forms of discrimination. At the camp, we try to dismantle any form of discrimination, be it racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia, classism, or discrimination based on religion. Every person at the camp should feel safe, valued, and free from prejudice.

2🦉

Words can also hurt

We invite you to pick up a name and pronoun badge at the info desk and remind you not to assign others to genders, origins, or the like based on appearances. If you have questions or are unsure, approach the Care Team or inform yourself first. This way, awareness work weighs less heavily on the shoulders of marginalized people.

3👋

Legally registered, family-friendly and accessible

This climate camp is legally registered and held with the consent of the municipality. We therefore make every effort to ensure that this place is family- and child-friendly and also more accessible to people without papers.

4📷

No photos of other people, please!

We invite you to photograph only the camp. Photos with and of others are only taken with explicit consent to respect the autonomy of every person.

5💬

Physical contact requires consent

Every person has different boundaries regarding touch and closeness. Ask before hugging someone or physically approaching them in any other way. This way we can respect personal boundaries and create understanding for the needs and wishes of others.

6👁️

Openness is important

Not everyone at the camp has a similar social or cultural background. If there are disagreements, we encourage you to enter into dialogue and learn from each other. If you are unsure how to address something, please contact the Care Team.

7🤝

Collectivity and anti-capitalism

The camp is a place without individual expenses, so it is based on donations and volunteer organization. No profit is made either. If you have the privilege of being financially secure, we ask you to contribute according to the donation recommendations. We also ask you to appreciate the communal structures and goods, as well as the environment in which you move.

8🦌

Nature and animal protection

The climate camp is not only about human beings, but also wants to build respect for plants, animals and the environment. The camp food is therefore vegan and we ask you to be aware that you are in a forest with its own ecosystem and animal inhabitants. So stay on the paths, watch your volume and use the camp toilets.

9🍵

Conscious handling of alcohol, cigarettes and dogs

We do not sell alcohol or other legal drugs at the camp. If you do consume them, we ask you to check with the people around you if that is okay with them. Please also note that sleep, children, tea and care areas are drug- and dog-free. Dogs and other animals are allowed at the camp and at the tents, but please take responsible care of them and your fellow human beings.

10🌿

We all are the Camp!

For the camp to work, we all need to pitch in. Cleaning toilets, cooking, washing dishes and much more: please sign up for work shifts during the plenary or at the info desk. Always pay attention to your surroundings, pick up trash and remember that the sleeping area is dedicated to rest.

Congratulations, you have read the consensus to the end! By accepting the consensus, we show that we act according to the same basic values and care for one another. Together we shape not just a camp, but a movement. We wish you an unforgettable climate camp stay!
